Pashinyan stresses importance of strategic dialogue with U.S.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a meeting with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard Verma in Yerevan on June 18.

"The PM underscored the consistent development of Armenia-US strategic dialogue and the deepening of multi-sectoral cooperation," the PM’s office said.

In addition, Pashinyan expressed hope that the U.S. diplomat's current visit to Armenia will contribute to agenda matters of bilateral relations, programs aimed at strengthening democracy and economic empowerment in Armenia, as well as expanding relations at the local self-government level.

In turn, Verma emphasized Washington's readiness to strengthen cooperation with Armenia in various directions, including between local bodies and communities, as well as in economy, education and some other domains.

"The interlocutors discussed the implementation of the agreements reached at the Armenia-EU-US high-level meeting held in Brussels on April 5," the statement reads.

Views were exchanged also on the discussions on the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty and the border delimitation process.
