Today, road workers began to install a temporary wireless lighting along the Georgian Military Road. The road connecting Russia and Georgia through the Daryal Gorge was temporary closed after a glacial surge. The permit regime is in force at the moment. It is expected that in the near future the traffic will be back to normal.
''At the moment, the vehicles pass through Lars without delays from 4.30 to 18.00,’' the Main Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia informed ''Vestnik Kavkaza".
A representative of EMERCOM noted that the final resumption of movement depends on the repair works carried out by the Georgian side.
The Department of roads of the Georgian Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure explained that the road is open for daytime traffic from 6 AM until 8 PM. The road is closed only in the evening, starting from 8 PM.
However, no date exact day when the traffic will be back to normal was mentioned. It was only noted that the construction works are carried out in accordance with the plan and on time.
