Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill sent a congratulatory telegram to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of his birthday.
"Please accept my congratulations on a significant personal date - the 60th anniversary", the text says.
Patriarch noted the significant contribution of Ilham Aliyev to the strengthening of social harmony in the South Caucasus, as well as the valuable experience gained which helps to make key strategic decisions that contribute to the process of creating "a decent life for the peoples of Azerbaijan and their harmonious coexistence".
The Head of of the Russian Church appreciated the interaction of the President of Azerbaijan with the Baku diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. He also thanked Ilham Aliyev for his attention to the joint efforts of the religious leaders of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia aimed at establishing peace in Karabakh.
"I wish you strong health, prosperity and help from above in your further high service", the letter says.
