Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has commented on the possibility of sending Russian troops to Syria.
"If there is a request, then in the framework of bilateral contacts, in the framework of bilateral dialogue, it will, of course, be discussed and considered. For now, it is rather difficult to speak hypothetically," he said.
According to TASS, Syrian Vice Premier and Foreign Minister, Walid Muallem, said that Syria would ask Russia to send its troops to fight Islamic State if such a need arose.
