Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov rejected rumors that Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan had agreed the candidacy of the republic’s premier Karen Karapetyan with the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"No, this is not true. This is pure nonsense. Putin does not influence the Armenian internal policy in any way," TASS cited the Kremlin spokesman as saying.
"You know that Russia is very meticulous about ensuring that no one interferes in our internal affairs. But Russia is also very accurate about avoiding to do anything that could be interpreted as the interference into the internal affairs of other countries, all the more so, our nearest partners, to which Armenia is also referred," the presidential spokesman said.
