Polad Bulbul oglu wins Ambassador of the Year award

The ceremony of presenting the Ambassador of the Year award to Azerbaijan's ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Russia Polad Bulbul oglu, was held today at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Moscow, the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza reported.

The survey was conducted among UTRO.AZ website visitors. According to its chief editor Habil Agazade, more than 10.5 thousand people took part in it.

According to the survey's results, Polad Bulbul oglu was named the ambassador of the year: 41% of the respondents voted for him.

The second place was taken by Azerbaijan's ambassador to Ukraine Azer Khudiyev with 17.82%, and the third was Azerbaijan's ambassador to Qatar Rashad Ismailov with 12.02% of votes.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Azerbaijani ambassador to Russia called on his colleagues not to take it personally. "Probably, it's just because sometimes I still perform on stage as an artist, as a composer, probably, that is why there is popularity. In principle, all my colleagues, all Azerbaijani diplomacy is working hard in difficult conditions. I want to wish success to all my colleagues," Polad Bulbul oglu said.

"Now I have the only dream in my life - when I was Minister of Culture, I held a wonderful festival in Karabakh. It was called Khari-bulbul. Khari-bulbul is a flowering plant endemic to the Karabakh region. And the folklore festival was held under such a beautiful name for four years in a row, it was attended by guests from all over the world - from the U.S., Europe, Australia. So I have the only dream left - to resume this festival and hold in Shusha sometime," the diplomat concluded .
