"Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, many foreign ambassadors and representatives of embassies are here, that’s why I would like to state one again that the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan cannot the topic for negotiations in any form," the ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu said at today's welcoming speech at a solemn event dedicated to the Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a correspondent of ‘Vestnik Kavkaza’ reports.
"On this remarkable day I would like to express confidence that real progress on the way to the settlement of the conflict is to begin in the near future and it will create more favorable conditions for the development of Azerbaijan and all countries in the region. And our country will be able to exert more efforts to ensure peace and prosperity in the Caucasus,’’ the ambassador pointed out.
"Throughout history, including the 20-21st centuries Azerbaijan continuously demonstrated commitment to the ideals of freedom, peace, tolerance and creativity. It was in the period of the first democratic republic and it continues today. We always aim to work with our good neighbors, including Russia. We believe that the progress and prosperity that we can achieve together will be doubly valuable," Polad Bulbuloglu said.
The ambassador noted the deterrent effect on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the region as a whole. "True to traditions of good-neighborliness and friendly cooperation, Azerbaijan is aimed at to make a significant contribution to the further development of the Caucasian-Caspian region, providing it with peace and stability. But it is necessary to eliminate impediments that prevent the full development of cooperation potential. The occupation of the territories of our country, non-fulfillment of for resolutions by UN Security Council on the complete and unconditional withdrawal of the Armenian Armed Forces from the occupied areas is a major factor that undermines stability. It is a threat to peace in the region and in the OSCE area as awhole,’’ he reminded.

"Our country supports a peaceful resolution of the conflict with the help of negotiations under international mediation. Therefore, we rely on all international community members’ he responsibility on the necessity to restore Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and put an end to the occupation of its territory. Certainly, a special role to resolve the conflict belongs to the Russian Federation as a permanent UN Security Council member and a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk group. The country is geographically and historically closely related to the South Caucasus and it has close ties with Azerbaijan,’’ the Azerbaijani diplomat concluded.
