A recent opinion poll has shown that Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf is in the lead among potential presidential candidates.
The poll by the Shenaakht Analytical Center showed that around 28.7% of respondents were ready to vote for Ghalibaf, around 20% supported former Supreme National Security Council secretary Saeed Jalili and 13.4% of the respondents favoured former Iranian health minister Masoud Pezeshkian.
The opinion poll also revealed that about 26% of respondents were undecided about who would they vote for.
Around 53.6% of the respondents said they would definitely vote in the upcoming presidential election while 17.4% have not yet decided, and 29% of the respondents said they would not take part in the election.
The election will be held two weeks from now to choose a successor to Ebrahim Raisi who was killed in a helicopter crash in May.
