Pompeo: U.S. able to keep oil markets supplied while maintaining anti-Iran sanctions

The United States is able to keep the oil markets supplied while maintaining sanctions against Iranian oil, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said.

"We have managed to take almost 2.7 million barrels of crude oil off the market by denying Iran the wealth to create their terror campaign around the world and we have managed to keep the oil markets supplied. I’m confident we can continue to do that," he stressed.

The Secretary of State recalled that when the U.S. withdrew from JCPOA, experts said crude oil would go to $100 a barrel. "When I woke up this morning, Brent Crude $58, WTI a little less than that – $55, $56," CNBC cited Pompeo as saying.
