U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo held a meeting with Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman in Washington, according to the U.S. Department of State website.
"The Secretary expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s continued support for UN Special Envoy Martin Griffiths’ efforts to advance the political process in Yemen," the statement reads.
The sides also agreed on the need for parties to adhere to the agreements made in Sweden. In addition, Pompeo and Khalid bin Salman discussed a broad range of bilateral and regional issues, including countering the Iran’s destabilizing activities in the region.
