U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said he had good conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Monday at the meeting in Finland.
The U.S. official aid a wide range of issues were covered in his “good conversation” with Lavrov.
Pompeo recognized that Russia and the U.S. have definitely different interests, but at the meeting "there was a desire to begin to try and find paths" where they can make real progress on places where Moscow and Washington have overlapping interests, as narrow as they may be.
"Hope we can achieve that,” Reuters cited the Secretary of State as saying.
