The head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, announced that in Russia the first recovered patients in whom the omicron coronavirus strain had been detected, were already discharged from hospitals. In total - 16 people.

"Today they are already recovering, being discharged from the hospital, as well as those who successfully spent 14-days quarantine in the observatory", she said, Komsomolskaya Pravda reports.

She also noted that the sanitary measures that are used in Russia to prevent coronavirus remain effective against the omicron strain.
