An information system for monitoring movements of vessels, with which all the sea ports of Georgia will be equipped, is to start its work from April 1st in the territorial waters of Georgia and the port areas, the Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia reports.
The introduction of traffic service vehicles (VTS) will allow Georgia to join the unified European network of maritime safety (SafeSeaNet), which provides information and services to vessels, navigational assistance, organizing of traffic in the ports and the safety of navigation in territorial waters, Georgia Online reports.
