According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for Dagestan, on Sunday, the repairmen managed to restore power supply in the Kumtorkalinsky and Novolaksky districts of Dagestan.
All consumers were provided with electricity at about 2:50 Moscow time, Rosseti informs.
Rosseti clarified that the electricity was cut off due to the thick salt fog from the Caspian Sea - the salt settled on power lines and insulators, causing short circuits on the line. As a result, due to the emergency shutdown, about 50 000 residents of Dagestan were left without electricity.
