Kazakhstan's Central Election Commission (CEC) has unveiled preliminary results from the previous day's parliamentary elections to the unicameral Kurultai, with the Adilet party taking a commanding lead, Secretary of Kazakhstan's CEC Shavkat Utemisov announced.
Utemisov said that 12.6 million voters were included on the electoral rolls, of whom 9.3 million turned out to cast their ballots, putting preliminary voter turnout at 74.08%.
According to the tally, Adilet currently tops the race, having garnered 6.5 million votes, or 71.17%.
The National Social Democratic Party trailed with 469,000 votes, or roughly 5.11%, the CEC secretary reported.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party of Kazakhstan, Ak Zhol, polled 478,000 votes (5.21%), while the Respublica party secured 509,600 votes (5.56%). The Auyl party drew support from 574,600 voters, accounting for approximately 6.26%.
The People's Party of Kazakhstan received 285,300 votes, or 3.11%, and the Baytaq party garnered 97,700 votes, or 1.07%.
The CEC also noted that 2.51% of voters cast their ballots against all candidates.
