Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili pardoned 15 prisoners in connection with the anniversary of the dispersal of the rally on April 9, 1989, the administration of the head of state informs.
Among those pardoned are seven women who will be able to leave penitentiary institutions today. Six Ukrainian citizens convicted in Georgia will also be released, TASS reports.
Recall that on April 9, 1989, a ten-thousand rally for independence was dispersed in Tbilisi. 21 people became victims of rally.
