Like the leaders of other countries with Muslim populations, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed the citizens of his state on the occasion of the beginning of the Festival of Sacrifice, called Kurban Ait in Kazakh.

Tokayev emphasized that Kurban Ait (Kurban Bayram, Gurban Bayram) promotes the unity of believing citizens on a spiritual plane.

"I congratulate you on Kurban Ait, a sacred holiday that personifies the ideals of goodness and humanism, mercy and compassion, justice and responsibility. This is a holiday especially revered and expected by all Muslims. It promotes creative initiatives and charitable endeavors and helps to root moral values",

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.

The President emphasized that Islam had always been part of the Kazakh cultural code, and its ideals were fully manifested in the actions of people who rescued victims of large-scale floods that occurred this spring. Concluding the congratulations, Tokayev expressed confidence in Kazakhstan's ability to defeat any possible threats to the republic's security and stability through social harmony and unity.
