President of Turkmenistan declares amnesty

Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has signed a decree pardoning 1485 convicts.The president’s pardon decree comes on the occasion of the State Flag Day.

"Through such events, people who have stumbled are given the opportunity to redeem themselves through honest work and make a worthy contribution to the development of the country," the press service cited Berdimuhamedov as saying.
