Today, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a joint meeting of the government and the country's Security Council decided to allocate $300 million to ensure the country's food security, Turkmen television reports.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic, Banking and International Financial Organizations Muhammetguly Muhammedov reported on the measures taken in the country to improve the food products supply to the population, create food supplies in the required volumes and ensure an abundance of food in the country's consumer markets, proposing to allocate funds to the relevant structures to provide the population food products. He also said that the 2023 State Budget presupposes to provide for the necessary amount of financial resources to ensure an uninterrupted supply of food to the country's population, RIA Novosti reports.
The president approved these proposals and signed a relevant resolution, allocating $150 million to Turkmen entrepreneurs to organize relevant production. Another $150 million will be allocated to the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan for the purchase of necessary food products.
