Government and Parliament of Uzbekistan has officially announced about the death of President of the Republic Islam Karimov. The president died at the age of 78 due to a stroke.
According to the Constitution of Uzbekistan, the powers of the president of the republic will be transferred to the Speaker of the Parliament Nigmatilla Yoldoshev.
Recall that President Islam Karimov was hospitalized on Saturday, August 27th, due to a a stroke. This morning, the Government of the Republic informed about Islam Karimov was in critical condition.
The funeral will be held in the city of Samarkand, the hometown of Islam Karimov.
