Prices for wine in Krasnodar Territory to rise 40%

Wine in Kuban may rise in price by a total of 40% by the end of the year, the head of the Department of Viticulture and Winemaking of Krasnodar Territory, Oleg Tolmachev, told the fifth All-Russian Summit of Winemakers, which was held in Abrau Durso.

He explained that prices are determined not so much by the volume of the harvest, but by the situation on world markets. At the same time, the increase in prices will be gradual. Some wines could rise in price by 15%, while others will rise in price by 50%.

Tolmachev also specified that this year the grape harvest in Kuban will be approximately 15% lower than in 2014, which was a record harvest.
