British Prince Harry and US actress Meghan Markle were declared husband and wife by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby in a ceremony held in St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, TASS reports.
Before the couple was proclaimed husband and wife, Harry made his vow to take Meghan to be his wife "for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part".
On her part, Markle repeated the same words, following which it was time for the couple to exchange their rings as "a sign of our marriage".
Markle was wearing a white wedding dress created by British designer Clare Waight Keller with a veil and a diamond tiara. Prince Harry was dressed in a black military uniform.
The newlyweds will now be known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which puts them in the senior ranks of the British royalty.
