Protest action turns into fight in Tbilisi

Ideological clashes between supporters of the ruling Georgian Dream party and pro-Western demonstrators escalated into physical confrontations, according to Georgian media.

A large number of police officers were sent to the scene, who stopped the brawl.

The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs issued a statement urging protesters to comply with law enforcement directives and prevent further escalation.

"Otherwise, law enforcement officers will apply the measures provided by law, and each violation of the law will be followed by an appropriate legal response",

Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

The department also noted that some protesters continue to disrupt public order despite repeated warnings.
