The head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Vladimir Puchkov, has taken the elimination of natural fires in the Kuban region between the settlements of Praskoveevka and Dzhanhot under his personal control.
The minister arrived in Gelendzhik, where he was informed about the actions being taken to extinguish the fires.
The Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies and fire and rescue groups are working in conjunction with the local authorities. The Main Directorate of the Russian Interior Ministry in Krasnodar Territory is on high alert.
More than 500 people and 100 units of equipment, including two IL-76, two Be-200 aircraft and four helicopters with water drainers are involved.
