According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the goal of the Ministry of Defence in Syria has been achieved and the withdrawal of the majority of Russian servicemen and equipment from the Syrian Arab Republic is to start tomorrow on March 15th.
"In addition, our soldiers and officers showed their professionalism, teamwork, ability to organize combat work away from the country's territory without mutual borders with the ''theater of military actions,'' Tass cites Vladimir Putin as saying.
The President also noted that the Russian maritime and aviation bases in Tartus and Hmeymim Airport will operate as usual. "They should be protected from land, sea and air," he said, adding that the Syrian military will engage in monitoring of the ceasefire.
