Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated at a meeting with the military leadership of the country that Moscow is doing its best to preserve the strategic balance of forces and prevent large-scale military conflicts.
"Certainly, we will take all necessary efforts to ensure and maintain the strategic balance of forces, which is the most reliable guarantee to prevent large-scale military conflicts. We cannot and we won't allow them to happen,'' RIA Novosti cites him as saying.
Yesterday speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Oktay Asadov expressed gratitude to Russia for help in resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
