The Russian military will not carry out a ground operation against militants of the terrorist group Islamic State in Syria, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated today.
"It is impossible. No matter what happens, we're not going to do it, and our Syrian friends know about this," RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.
According to Putin, the Russian aviation activities in the country are not spontaneous and occur in accordance with plans agreed earlier.
