Putin: Russian-Kyrgyz military cooperation to develop successfully

Russian President Vladimir Putin is holding the talks with Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov in Bishkek. During the talks Putin expressed confidence in the further development of military-technical cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.

Putin noted that they established a "very close, ally cooperation between the defense agencies." "I am confident that this cooperation will continue both in the multilateral format in the CSTO and bilaterally," TASS cited him as saying. "It will also concern deliveries of military equipment and arms," the Russian leader specified.

The Russian president noted a positive trend in the growth of trade turnover of the two countries. Kyrgyzstan’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union had good results, he said. He also noted the positive development of educational and social contacts.

"We agree with your proposal to declare the next year the Year of Russian-Kyrgyz Cooperation and we will continue to pay much attention to it," Putin stressed.
