Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved the construction of a highway that will connect Karachay-Cherkessia and Kabardino-Balkaria with the Black Sea coast of Abkhazia.
"The project is known. The road will link several regions of Russia and even Abkhazia, there is nothing but good. This is a good project. We, the federal authorities, are ready to support it," the President said.
