Putin and Aliyev discuss launch of Azerbaijan-Armenia peace treaty preparation

Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev, the Kremlin press service reported. 

The heads of state discussed the results of the talks between Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held in Brussels on April 6, drawing attention to the need to fully implement the trilateral agreements between the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia dated November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021, as well as "intensification of the tripartite working group activities on the development of economic and transport links in the region".

"The issues of launching work on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border's delimitation and the preparation of a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia were touched upon", TASS quoted the message.

The Kremlin added that the conversation was initiated by the Azerbaijani side.

Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev "confirmed their mutual intention to continue close cooperation on the current agenda of bilateral relations", the statement says.

Earlier today, the President of the Russian Federation had a telephone conversation with Nikol Pashinyan.
