Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held a telephone conversation, the Kremlin press service informs.
It is reported that during the negotiations, the parties, in connection with the recent trip of the Azerbaijani leader to Kiev, discussed the Ukrainian issues and the settlement of the situation, "suspended due to the destructive line" of the Ukrainian authorities.
"Vladimir Putin spoke about his contacts with the United States and their allies on the provision of guarantees to ensure the security of Russia. In the exchange of views on recent events in Kazakhstan, satisfaction was expressed that the situation had been quickly stabilized, in particular, thanks to the presence of the CSTO peacekeeping forces", the message says.
