Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone talk with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the initiative of the Israeli side on Monday, according to the Kremlin press service.
Putin and Netanyahu exchanged opinions on international issues as well as regional affairs in the Middle East, it said in a statement.
The leaders agreed to further maintain contacts at various levels, it added.
