Russian leader Vladimir Putin held talks with the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, at the BRICS Parliamentary Forum in St. Petersburg, the Kremlin press service writes.
During the meeting, the President announced the visit of State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin to Tehran. According to him, Volodin will take part in the inauguration of the elected President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian.
"The inauguration of the newly elected President of Iran is to take place soon. Mr. Volodin, your colleague, will lead the Russian delegation",
Vladimir Putin said.
The President also spoke about the successful relations between Moscow and Tehran and expressed hope for their development after the elections.
In conclusion, Putin asked to convey best wishes to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic Ali Khamenei and all the people of the country.
