Putin asks cabinet to take measures on increasing flights safety

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the government to take steps on increasing the flights safety, the Kremlin press service said on Sunday, TASS reports.

In particular, the government has to "develop and approve a range of measures on introducing a single standard of automatic dependent surveillance system over long-distance aircraft and aircraft for general purpose with the use of Russian technologies, including the technologies of the global navigation satellite system GLONASS."

The government is due to report about the measures by July 1, 2016.
