Putin: complications are not an indulgence for indifference towards people
Today Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in the North Caucasian Federal District (North Caucasus Federal District) in order to participate in the plenary session of the Forum of the Popular Front (ONF) in Stavropol.
The first regional forum of the ONF takes place from January 24th to January 25th in 2016. More than 600 participants are taking part in the event – activists of civil society from the southern regions of Russia, federal and regional experts of the ONF, representatives of executive authorities and journalists, representatives of the Federal Ministries of Economic Development, Labour, Construction and Public Utilities, the Anti-Monopoly Service, the Federal Ministry of the North Caucasus and the Agency for Nationalities, as well as the Russian Audit Chamber.
The key theme of the two-day conference is monitoring of the implementation of the Presidential Decree 'on the ground', as well as the fight against wastefulness and corruption in public procurement.
Carrying out the inter-regional forum of the Popular Front in 2016 will allow to analyze and evaluate the current situation in the regions of Russia, Russian President announced.
"Three such conferences are in the plans of the year. I hope and believe that it will provide an opportunity to share information, further study and analyze of the situation in specific regions, as well as assessments of what is happening, understanding of the specific details of the federation subjects in the region, look at difficulties and problems," Putin said at the opening plenary session of the ONF, RIA Novosti reports.
The co-chairman of the central headquarters of the ONF Stanislav Govorukhin said that now the movement plans to organize all its major events in regions in order "to have a better understanding of the specific problems of the region."
Russian President Vladimir Putin hopes for proposals by the Russian Popular Front that would include solutions to pressing issues and problems in the Russian economy.
"I am sure that you understand it well, and do your best to work constructively, rationally and for citizens' benefit. I hope that today in the course of our meeting you will share your thoughts with me regarding how and what ways are useful to move forward in resolving the most pressing problems, acute problems which were discussed yesterday," Putin said at the planetary session of the interregional forum of the ONF, Tass reports.
"You often find acute problems that still have not been resolved by the government at various levels. But these pressing issues worry people and this is the most convincing argument to continue your work. Certainly we have a lot of difficulties now, but they cannot be an indulgence for indifference to the people,'' the head of state added.
