Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the citizens of Russia with congratulations on the occasion of Global Tiger Day, thanking volunteers and regional specialists for their work on restoring populations of rare animals such as the Amur tiger.
"This kind holiday, invented by enthusiastic environmentalists from the native land of the Amur tiger – Primorye – united everyone who feels personal responsibility for the preservation and augmentation of the richest natural heritage of Russia. Who understands well that human influence on the environment must be reasonable and careful," the President stressed in his congratulatory message.
