Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting of the Security Council today, at which the situation in Syria was discussed.
It was attended by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, the head of the Kremlin administration Sergey Ivanov, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and his deputy Rashid Nurgaliyev, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Mikhail Fradkov, and permanent member of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Boris Gryzlov.
"There was a very detailed discussion of the situation in Syria, as well as the progress of the Russian Aerospace Forces operation in the Arab republic for the maintenance of offensive actions of the Syrian army," the head of the Kremlin press service Dmitry Peskov is quoted.
