Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences to Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday over a deadly terrorist attack in Istanbul and expressed confidence that the perpetrators would be punished, the Kremlin press service said, Sputnik reports.
"The Russian leader has resolutely condemned this vile and cynical crime and expressed confidence that the perpetrators and the ringleaders would not escape retribution. The Russian president has emphasized that this tragedy once again confirms the necessity of joint efforts aimed at hard-line fight against terrorism," the press service said.
Putin expressed condolences to the families of victims and wished speedy recovery for the injured.
