Yesterday and today, Russian President Vladimir Putin held "a number of telephone conversations" with his colleagues from the CSTO countries on the situation in Kazakhstan, his press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"There were talks with President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and with the Prime Minister of Armenia," TASS quotes Peskov as saying.
The spokesman for the Russian leader specified that Vladimir Putin also "spoke on the phone with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev several times already”. They discussed the situation in the country and "joint actions within the CSTO mandate" in the fight against international terrorism, as well as to ensure order and safety of the Kazakhstani citizens.
