Russian President Vladimir Putin has held telephone talks with Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan. The Russian leader expressed serious concern about the large-scale fighting on the frontline that led to numerous victims.
Vladimir Putin also urged to stop the hostilities as soon as possible and return to a ceasefire, assuring that the continuation of the Russian mediation activities will be aimed at the normalization of the situation.
The need for a return to the negotiations between Baku and Yerevan under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group in order to achieve a comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was stressed by President Putin.
