Russian President Vladimir Putin offered condolences to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan over the Istanbul building collapse, which claims the lives of 21 people, the Russian Embassy in Ankara wrote on its Twitter page.
"Vladimir Putin offered sincere condolences to Tayyip Erdogan, to relatives and friends of those killed as a result of the collapse of a residential building in Istanbul, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured," TASS cited the statement as saying.
The death toll in Wednesday's building collapse in Istanbul has risen to 21, 14 people more were injured.
The building collapsed on February 6 while 30 residents were inside. The cause of the collapse is yet to be determined. The investigation is underway.
