Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the pipelay of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is close to completion.
He noted that last year as much as 55 billion cubic meters of Russian gas were exported to Germany.
"The pipelay of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is close to completion now; its commissioning will make possible to double potential Russian gas supplies over the Baltic route," TASS cited the Russian leader as saying.
Putin stressed that the Nord Stream 2 gas will be an extra contribution to satisfaction of the demand in Germany and other countries.
