Russian President Vladimir Putin has thanked Tajik President Emomali Rahmon for the welcome and warm reception during his state visit to Tajikistan, the Kremlin press service said after the two spoke by phone on Tuesday.
"The leaders expressed their satisfaction with the constructive and substantive nature of bilateral negotiations. The decisions taken and an impressive package of signed joint documents will no doubt lend new impetus to the further development of Russian-Tajik strategic partnership and alliance," the statement reads.
Putin also noted the high level at which the second Russia-Central Asia summit and the CIS Council of Heads of State meeting were organized in Dushanbe.
