Putin: there should be friendly competition between Russia and its neighbors

There should be friendly competition between Russia and its neighboring countries, and we should not enjoy the problems of foreign partners, but solve our own. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this at a meeting with the organizers and participants of the festival 'Golosyashiy KiViN'.

For the first time this year's festival was held in the concert hall in Svetlogorsk, not in Jurmala. At the meeting the head of state said that the relocation has meant that the Latvian city of Jurmala lost the KVN comedy players, where the event took place from 1996 to 2014. "Everyone has enough problems, we will not rejoice because of the fact that they have problems. We will solve our own. It seems to me that for the residents of the Kaliningrad region it is an interesting event," TASS quoted Russian President as saying.

"Lithuanians are not rivals for us, but the Poles, of course, wait 3-4 years – and we will press the Poles," Acting Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Nikolai Tsukanov noted during a meeting.

"Lithuania has its advantages, and Latvia, Estonia and Poland have. It is necessary for it to be a friendly competition, and I am sure that the Kaliningrad region has a lot of competitive advantages. We only need to use them effectively," the Russian President responded.
