The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the country's refusal to get licenses to the 2016 Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, which freed after the removal of the Russian Paralympic competitions.
"In Baku there was another very important event. Azerbaijan rejected the IOC proposal to get the licenses destined previously to the Russian Paralympians. I have no doubt that this gesture sanctioned by the President of Azerbaijan. Thus, Ilham Heydar oglu has clearly demonstrated that he got the same respect for the sportsmen of Azerbaijan and Russia. It is very important for us,’’ he said.
