Oman Air's direct flights between Moscow and Muscat have been cancelled until the end of October due to low demand in the summer, the Russian Ambassador to Oman Ilya Morgunov explained.
"The flights have been cancelled until October. They are just waiting for a new flow of tourists. Now there is very little occupancy. Not many people are flying. There is extremely hot weather in Oman now. It's difficult to rest there now. Locals are also leaving",
Morgunov said.
According to the Russian ambassador, the airline has temporarily suspended flights to Russia for reasons of economic benefit, RIA Novosti reports.
Let us remind you that the cancellation of flights became known shortly before July 1, the day of its cancellation. The company returned money to tourists for air tickets previously purchased for the summer and announced the return of the Muscat-Moscow-Muscat flight on October 26.
