Removal of sanctions imposed against Iran will have a beneficial impact on its cooperation with its neighbors, including Armenia, the ambassador of Iran to Armenia Mohammad Reis said.
The diplomat reminded that in the next month a visit of Iranian Vice President to Armenia is expected. "During the visit, a number of issues will be discussed, among them is the construction of a third power line," RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.
According to the ambassador, the two countries have a number of unrealized joint projects, including the construction of a hydroelectric power station on the Araks River and the North-South transport corridor. Speaking of the latter, the diplomat expressed his opinion that Armenia could be a good corridor connecting the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea. "The construction may take some time, but communications have a great importance for the economic development of the country," Reis said, adding that here, as in other projects, investors are needed.
"The EAEU is a sufficiently large market," Mohammad Reis noted, adding that some of the member countries of the EAEU and Iran have common land and sea borders.
In his opinion, if Tehran can reach an agreement on preferential tariffs with the EAEU, it will be important for relations with the organization.
