Rescuers recover deceased Costa Rican climber from Mount Elbrus

A Costa Rican citizen died suddenly yesterday while climbing Mount Elbrus. Today, Kabardino-Balkaria's Ministry of Emergency Situations recovered the foreign climber's body from the mountain.

"Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations rescuers recovered the tourist's body to Azau glade and handed it over to a law enforcement investigative team",

Kabardino-Balkaria's Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

The 49-year-old tourist was climbing the peak as part of an unregistered tourist group, when he experienced medical complications at 5,200 meters altitude, resulting in his death. Rescue teams responded immediately upon receiving incident notification.
