A 19-year-old resident of Chechnya, Arbi Dikayev, has been sentenced in the republic, he is accused of preparing to participate in the war in Syria.
Grozny district court and the investigation established that Dikaev, knowing the criminal nature of his actions, intended to go to Syria to join armed groups. "Dikayev could not carry out his criminal intentions because while passing through customs control at Stavropol Airport in Stavropol Territory he was detained by law enforcement officials," the portal YUGA reports, citing the press service of the Prosecutor of the Republic.
The court found Dikayev guilty and he was sentenced to imprisonment for a period of 5 years to be served in a general regime colony with a restriction of freedom for one year.
