A protest has taken place today in the city of Gori in Georgia, the birthplace of Joseph Stalin. Participants in the protest demanded the re-establishment of the monument to the Soviet leader in the city, after it was removed in 2010.
The demonstration started after deputies of the city council refused to restore the monument in the central square of Gori.
